The Adulting Vault Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 26, 2026

1. Who we are

The Adulting Vault (“we,” “us,” “our”) publishes digital and printed guides, workbooks, journals, tools, and video/audio products. This policy describes how we handle personal information for visitors, customers, and subscribers. Questions: privacy@theadultingvault.com.

2. What we collect

  • Account & order data: name, email, password hash, order history, download activity, and, for bulk orders, organization and shipping details.
  • Payment data: processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We store the last four digits, card brand, and a customer token — never full card numbers.
  • Usage data: pages viewed, referring source, device/browser, IP address, and interactions with the site, collected via first-party analytics and essential cookies.
  • Support data: messages you send us and any attachments.

3. How we use it

  • Fulfill orders, deliver downloads, and provide customer support.
  • Send transactional emails (receipts, download links, license documents).
  • Send marketing emails only when you opt in — with a one-click unsubscribe in every message.
  • Detect fraud, prevent abuse of download links, and enforce our license terms.
  • Improve the site through aggregate analytics.

4. Cookies & similar technologies

We use a small number of first-party cookies and browser storage entries. This site is maintained by The Adulting Vault to answer common privacy questions; specific tools may change as the site evolves.

  • Essential: keep you signed in, remember cart/library contents, and secure signed download links. These cannot be disabled without breaking checkout and account features.
  • Preferences: remember interface choices such as your last-viewed category or dismissed banners.
  • Analytics: privacy-respecting, aggregate-only measurement of pages viewed, referrers, and rough geography. IP addresses are truncated or hashed before storage where the analytics provider supports it.
  • No third-party ad trackers, no retargeting pixels, no cross-site advertising cookies.

You can block or clear cookies in your browser at any time. Blocking essential cookies will prevent checkout and downloads from working.

5. Analytics

We use a privacy-respecting analytics tool to understand which pages are useful and which are not. We collect page URL, referrer, device/browser, approximate region, and interaction events (clicks, downloads, form submits) — always in aggregate. We do not build advertising profiles, do not share raw analytics data with advertisers, and do not use analytics data to identify individuals.

6. Email marketing

Marketing emails are opt-in. If you subscribe through a signup form, download a free resource, or check the marketing box at checkout, you consent to receive occasional emails about new guides, launches, updates to titles you own, and educational content.

  • Every marketing email includes a one-click unsubscribe. Unsubscribing takes effect immediately.
  • Transactional emails (receipts, download links, licensing paperwork, refund notices, security notices) are not marketing and are sent even to unsubscribed customers.
  • We do not sell, rent, trade, or share our email list with third parties for their own marketing.
  • Where required (EU, UK, Canada), we rely on explicit consent as the legal basis for marketing email. Elsewhere, we rely on consent or legitimate interest with a clear opt-out.
  • Emails may include open and click tracking so we can improve subject lines and content. You can disable image loading in your email client to limit open tracking.

7. What we do not do

We do not sell personal information. We do not rent our email list. We do not run third-party advertising trackers or ad-retargeting pixels on this site.

8. Service providers

We share data only with providers who help us operate: payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, file hosting/CDN, print-on-demand fulfillment for physical orders, and privacy-respecting analytics. Each is bound by contract to use data only to provide their service to us.

9. Data retention

We keep order and license records for as long as needed to service warranty, tax, and licensing obligations (typically seven years). Marketing subscriber data is kept until you unsubscribe. Support conversations are retained for two years. Analytics data is aggregated and retained for up to 24 months.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Email privacy@theadultingvault.com and we will respond within 30 days. Deleting your account does not remove records we must keep for legal or tax reasons.

11. Security

Traffic is encrypted with TLS. Passwords are hashed. Download links are signed and time-limited. No system is perfectly secure — if we ever discover a breach affecting your data, we will notify you as required by law.

12. Children

Our products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, email us and we will delete it.

13. International transfers

We are based in the United States. If you visit from outside the U.S., your data is transferred to and processed in the U.S. under standard contractual protections with our providers.

14. Changes

We will post material changes here and update the “last updated” date. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
